Arrrgg... Sorry if I sound grumpy, but it's probably just because I'm grumpy.
So... here's why this day was crap:
1) Yesterday I stayed up till 3 working... Silly me assumed that I could sleep in today, until I get a call at 9:45 telling me that something exciting was happening at the beach and I might want to film it for my documentary. I scramble out of bed and get ready. Not having a crew, I grab the camera and tripod (not the first time I've had to run across town carrying film equipment) and as I'm about to leave I get another call. The event started at 9 and was pretty much over... So I put away my equipment and go back to bed only to be woken up 15 minutes later for breakfast by mom and dad.
2) I washed my car today (FINALLY!) and found new scratched courtesy of my punk ass neighbor who sucks at basketball, yet still owns one and a hoop near my car. And to top it off... it rains, spoiling my car wash.
3) Didn't get to talk to Arun today... :(
4) Talked to Simon today about this girl he went out with. She sounds perfect for me, but their personalities conflict. So I had to give him advise on how to pursue a girl that he isn't really interested in, he just doesn't realize it yet. And to top it off... I'm feeling pretty single right about now.
5) Elle FINALLY responded to my calls/messages/emails. She said she doesn't need my help, cause she already has a lot. So that's pretty disappointing. I guess I'll just have to spend my time making money or something... I"m not offended by Elle or anything, I've been in her position before. You have so many people offering you help that you just turn people away... even if they have experience and something to offer. I've definitely made that mistake before. I guess I'll just channel all my ideas and advice through Nicole. She'll be my inside woman at Shrunken Head Productions. ;)
6) Tomorrow's a Monday and I don't feel well rested or ready for another week yet. Fuck.

On the plus side of life:
I'm going to a LA ScienCenter groundbreaking thing tomorrow to see Arnold Schwartzenegger.
"Uncle Sam," the musical (the one that will actually make me money) might enter production sooner than expected. Since I think I might do a test run here in LA first, before we head eastward. But for now, pre-pro's a bitch. |

So... I'm in Missouri shooting on location and my right eye just swelled up cause of either a bug bite or an allergic reaction. And my right eye is my viewfinder eye... Fuck, this betadine better work.
Speaking of Missouri, I can't believe that I am actually from here... :( Lots of turds (not literally!) live here... Sadly I'm related to a lot of them. Yuck. Belton (the city I'm from used to be so cute, too. :(
If my eye gives me more trouble tomorrow you'll all know, because I'll write another rambling, pissed off post.

I want to apologize to all my friends that I have been ignoring lately... Grr... I've been so incredibly busy, but I miss my friends.
I keep trying to find time to contact people, but end up getting too busy! When I'm not on site shooting, I'm in the office doing prepro or other stuff... Sheesh! I should probably sleep sometime, too. :/

I'm gonna try and call you again tomorrow. :) I keep wanting to see my friends and have a summer, but I'm pretty much having an anti-summer right now. :P Regardless, I really want to get my singer friends together and record them in my recording studio. I'll call you people when I get some time and I'm not using the studio for someone else AND it's fixed! Every time Evanescence comes they fucking keep having to rewire the entire sound studio/editing bay.
I miss college, but the working world is cool... I wish my last quarter would have been more fun and I wouldn't have had to deal with some of the crap/people that I did, but it made it easier for me to leave.
I've been thinking about Jacquie and Sam's offer to come back to SB and be in Silent Night, but I'm not sure if I could work out my schedule... Grr... I wish! I really wish!
I'm off now to make sure that Canada gets their MGM digital ad materials distributed to them.
Tomorrow I'm going to try and get Paul set up for a headshot, then I'm leaving to see a wedding in Morro Bay, then I'll be in SF for a while.

So... We've just wrapped the first week of shooting for "The Great American Way" documentary. Phew! To make it even harder on me... Some of my crew think that their creative input is equally important as mine. Grr. I love input, but when I lay out a shot, I don't need to justify it to people.
This week was hard, when I wasn't in random parts of the Santa Monica Bay filming, I was running from the Torrance office to the Burbank office. Often we would shoot the day life all day at a city, come home, eat, work on a shot list, then go back and shoot the night life all night. Ug... 8 hours of sleep, how I miss you.
Now I'm looking into film schools... UCLA and USC are at the tops of the list. NYU is looking pretty good too. They are all really hard to get into (like, one of them has 1500 applicants and accepts about 150), but I've heard from some people at some place *shifty eyes* that if I apply I'm in.
I'm off to update my shot list and script. Then let Paul know what's going on (yep, Paul McCormick of Herod and Emcee fame is my assistant for this).
